The Baptist Student Foundation is a campus ministry of the American Baptist Churches USA to the University of Illinois.
It is located in the midst of the Urbana-Champaign campus, just four blocks from the Quad, the center of university activity.
University Baptist Church was established in 1912. Various housing ministries were added in 1949, 1952 and 1986.
A Foundation was established in 1950 so that properties could be managed. A generous gift was given the BSF in 1969 by
community member Mrs. C.M. Hobart, thus beginning the BSF endowment.

What does BSF do?
The BSF is an 'umbrella' organization that provides a worshiping campus community and a Christian housing community for students.
As such it marshals, manages and assigns ministry resources.
How does the BSF relate to University Baptist Church?
University Baptist Church (UBC) is a Christian community centered around worship, study, prayer, service and fellowship. The BSF helps assure this local
body of believers has adequate staff and sufficient resources to carry out the work of the church as outlined in the New Testament.
How does the BSF relate to the housing ministry?
The Housing Ministry provides undergraduate and graduate men and women opportunities for spiritual growth,
for personal growth and for ministry. The BSF oversees the maintenance and upkeep of its physical needs. In seeking to preserve the cooperative
nature of the living community within each house, the BSF provides leadership training, mentorship and spiritual counsel.
